Ammolite Gemstones

A Rare and Captivating Organic Gem

Ammolite gemstones are among the world’s rarest and most captivating organic gems. Formed from the fossilized shells of ammonites — ancient marine creatures that lived over 70 million years ago — Ammolite is prized for its mesmerizing iridescence and bold, shifting colors.

Color, Origin & Rarity

Found exclusively in the Bearpaw Formation of the Canadian Rockies, each Ammolite cabochon is unique, displaying fiery reds, vivid greens, and flashes of blue or gold. The more colors and brilliance, the greater the gem’s rarity and value.

Perfect for Artistic Custom Jewelry

Typically cut as freeform doublets or triplets, Ammolite is perfect for pendants, statement rings, or artistic earrings. A favorite among collectors and designers, it brings prehistoric wonder and vibrant color to every custom piece.
