Purple and Violet Spinel – Rare Romance in Cool Tones

Uncommon Beauty in Purple and Violet Spinel

Natural purple and violet spinels are some of the most coveted and underappreciated gemstones in fine jewelry. With hues ranging from lavender and lilac to deep royal violet, these spinels offer a refined and luxurious alternative to more common purple gems like amethyst or tanzanite.

Natural Elegance Without Enhancements

These spinels are not only beautiful—they’re also natural and untreated. With excellent clarity, bright luster, and durability (8 on the Mohs scale), they’re ideal for heirloom jewelry, custom designs, or simply collecting rare stones.

A Collector’s Favorite

The violet and purple tones in spinel are not found in large quantities, making each gemstone a unique discovery. Whether you prefer soft pastel hues or saturated royal purples, these stones reflect individuality and taste.

Birthstone for August – A Unique Twist

Spinel is one of the official August birthstones. While most people associate this month with peridot, purple spinels offer a more distinctive and romantic option—perfect for Leos and Virgos seeking a personal statement. Curious to learn more? Read our Spinel Buying Guide.
