August News from MdMaya Gems – New Look, New Chapters, and a Personal Dedication

Dear friends,

First of all, I hope you and your loved ones are doing well. It has been a long time since I last sent out an update, and I must admit I have neglected my little gemstone shop for a while — so please forgive me.

A Fresh New Look

We’ve given the store a complete makeover. For the first time in many years, I sought help from professionals in both SEO and web design. Trusting “strangers” was not easy for me, especially when they pointed out that my store had usability issues, an outdated design, and lacked dynamism. In the end, they were absolutely right. Trusting and delegating is truly worthwhile when you’re in good hands.

We are still working on the website, so all suggestions are welcome.

New Ethics Section

In the footer, you’ll now find a Frequently Asked Questions section — covering gemstone grading, shipping, details about our store, and a new section I felt necessary to add after receiving many emails over the years: Our Ethics.

Growing Collections

Our collections have grown, and we have purchased many new gemstones. This will take time to upload, so thank you for your patience as we add them to the site.

August Shipping Dates

Between August 5th and 18th, no shipments will be made. The store will remain open, and you are welcome to reserve any gemstone with no obligation during this period. Shipping will resume on August 19th. Tomorrow, Monday, will be the last shipping day before we return from vacation.

Giving Back – A Personal Dedication

From now on, for every sale made, you will receive a donation receipt from the Spanish Association for Metastatic Breast Cancer.

As some of you know, in recent years I accompanied my sister during her battle with cancer. On February 25th, she passed away — but her legacy remains in my heart and in my shop. At the beginning of her illness, I was very angry with myself and my store for all the time it had taken from me. Over time, we made peace.

She was a veterinarian with a great love for her animals — her true calling — and for those she cared about. She taught me that you can love both your work and your loved ones without neglecting either, among many other things.

If you’d like to know more about this remarkable woman, my sister, I invite you to visit: In Memory of Teresa Sánchez – My Sister.

I wish you all the very best.

Warm regards,

Lola Sánchez
