Gemstone Description
+
This exquisite set features four rubellite tourmalines from Mozambique, totaling 9.20 carats. Two pear cuts (3.22 ct and 3.05 ct) and two oval cuts (1.44 ct and 1.49 ct) display a vivid reddish-purple hue (28 rP), perfectly matched in tone (6 medium-dark), saturation (6 vivid), and overall proportions.
In gemology, assembling a matching set like this is truly rare. Finding a single fine rubellite is already difficult—but discovering four natural stones with harmonious color, similar dimensions, and good clarity is exceptional. This level of consistency across different cuts is highly prized by collectors and jewelry designers alike.
Each gem shows slight inclusions—two-phase trichites and a solid crystal inclusion—typical of rubellites, yet all maintain very good brilliance and transparency. This set would be stunning in a bespoke pair of chandelier earrings or a coordinated jewelry suite with diamonds and gold.
