Gemstone Description

This remarkable pair of mushroom tourmalines from Burma (Myanmar) totals 13.59 ct, with individual weights of 6.83 ct and 6.76 ct. Both gems are cabochon-cut ovals that showcase the distinctive natural growth pattern of this rare variety: a vivid pink rubellite (Elbaite) outer layer encircling a black schorl core.
Mushroom tourmalines are celebrated for their radial, botryoidal growth—resembling the shape of a mushroom—formed deep in the earth and rarely found in such balanced pairs. These specimens feature rich inclusions, from solids to liquids and healed fractures, adding unique internal texture and natural depth.
Fully untreated and translucent, they are an exceptional addition to any serious collection or for crafting bold, one-of-a-kind jewelry with geological personality and organic charm.
Exceptional in rarity, symmetry, and origin—these Burmese mushrooms are true natural treasures.
