Gemstone Description
+
This 5.15 ct rubellite tourmaline from Mozambique offers the vivid reddish-purple hue (28 rP) most prized in this gem variety. With a medium-dark tone (6) and intense saturation (6), its presence is bold and refined—glowing under both daylight and incandescent light with remarkable consistency.
The elongated oval shape (12.12 × 7.89 × 7.63 mm) lends itself beautifully to sophisticated designs, such as a statement ring with a double diamond halo or an elegant pendant. Slight inclusions—two-phase structures, trichites, and a few healed fractures—are present but do not compromise the gem’s brilliance or integrity.
Its cut maximizes depth and color, giving the stone a commanding look that doesn’t overpower. This is a gem that doesn’t need perfect symmetry to make a lasting impression—its color does the talking.
A standout rubellite—natural, vivid, and full of design potential.
